Welcome to my first blog post. I'll be using it to chronicle my culinary adventures. I've recently moved to Baltimore from Philadelphia, and am steadily working my way through restaurants that seem like they might be interesting. I have the sense that Baltimore can't quite compete with San Francisco or New York (or Philadelphia for that matter), but I'm excited to explore what my new home town has to offer.
It's probably apparent already that I'm a bit of a food geek. In Philadelphia, I went to more than 130 restaurants in the four years I lived there. I kept a list of these restaurants, with categories, Top Ten lists, etc. which was on my web page. I'm aiming to do a bit better in Baltimore. As I visit restaurants, I now enter them into a spreadsheet that includes contact information, location, type of food, price point, and notes about the restaurant. (I'll post this shortly and link to it.)
To date, I've been to the following Baltimore restaurants:
Ambassador
Asahi
b Bistro
Bertha's
Bicycle
Brasserie Tatin
Cafe Hon
Cafe Zen
Chipotle
Gertrude's
Helmond
Holy Frijoles

Miss Shirley's
Pazo
Peter's Inn
Petit Louis Bistro
Regi's Bar and Grill
Saffron

S'ghetti Eddie's

Not bad for three months, eh? I've made a list of places I want to try out:

I can't speak highly enough of Martick's. I'm not sure how well it fits into your cost/benefit analysis, but for the money, I think that it's an excellent deal.
